I Am or Am I?

Reading my devotional over the last few days I was asking myself this question... I am or Am I?

The devotional talked about God and how his real name is actually Yahweh.  Yahweh actually translates to I AM. That simple I AM.  He says so in Exodus 3:14 God replies to Moses, "I AM who I Am. This is what you say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you."

So I got to thinking...who am I?  Wife...Mother...Teacher...Taxi Driver...Chef...Doctor...Therapist...Friend...the list goes on.  Why can't it be simple....I AM?   And am I enough?

But wait isn't God more than I AM?  He too is a father, teacher, Doctor, and therapist (in a sense) but yet his name say I AM.

Sooooo, maybe I am a simple I AM.....

I got to really thinking and looking hard at it... We are children of God.  We only exist because of Him.  When we say our name, we say His name first. (IE: I am Lachelle).  He is first and then us.

He is a teacher, a doctor, a friend, a father, a therapist too, just like we are.  He makes sure that we know who we are, what we are, and is there as someone we can talk to and guides us in the direction we need to go.  We are Him in a sense...I as a mom have 2 tiny humans to teach as they grow, make sure they are clothed and full and happy as they grow, there to listen to them when they need to talk or ask questions that make me think super hard too.  As a wife I am there to be that ear or support system, morale booster, in your corner no matter what girl, to make sure he too is full and happy.  And he is the same in return.  As a friend I am there to lend an ear for good news and for those times you need to vent...Will I always have the words to say in return....No not really but I am here....

But without the great I Am I know I wouldn't be where I am today or be the person I need to be to be there for those I love. My I Am only exists because of His I AM. Becoming who we are from who He is….

I AM  Lachelle.....And that's perfect for me
